Celebrating the life of
Dee Dee Covington
Passed away on April 12, 2012
Delores Ann Covington
SAVANNAH - Delores Ann Dee Dee Covington died peacefully in her home in Savannah, Georgia on April 12, 2012. She is survived by her sisters Jeane Robertson and Sondra Love, her niece Karan Jensen and nephew Mark Jensen. She was surrounded by friends, family and the comforting hands of Hospice Savannah. God could not be everywhere, thus He created Dee Dee. She was her family's best friend and advocate every moment of every day. She gave of herself generously and shared her life with all by giving comfort, love, support and recognizing the true beauty in everyone and everything she touched. Most special and amazing is how humble and unaware she was of her magnificent gifts of kindness and love.
Dee Dee will be greeted by her lovely mother and father, Mamie Harrison Covington and Clifford Debow Covington along with many other loved ones…what a sight to behold!
Dee Dee, a native of Bowling Green, KY, was a common thread in the Savannah community for over 35 years and made the city a better place. Whether, selling real estate with Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners along with top performing assistants: her four-legged friends Erica, Vannah, Audrey and Gordan or being Eastern Airline's Savannah Airport Manager, Dee Dee's profound impact will be forever cherished.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Hospice Savannah, PO Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416, or online at www.hospicesavannah.org.
Arrangements for DeeDee's Celebration of Life will be announced shortly.
May her Memory Be Eternal!

I was just thinking about you Dee Dee and decided to google your name. My heart fell when I saw that you passed away. You were so kind to me as a new realtor in 2004 walking in to Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners. You were encouraging and positive. A breath of fresh air. You are missed and loved by many.
- Amanda Baxley, Dallas, GA
Tonight I suddenly had the urge to look up Dee Dee's name and then I saw she had passed away. I'm incredibly sad to hear this news. It has been 8 years since I lived in Savannah, but while I was there she first helped me find a house to buy and then three years later she helped me sell it. In between she was always in touch, taking me out to lunch and dropping by with Beanie Babies for my girls or something for me. In fact, I'd have to say she was the kindest person I met while I was in Savannah, and one of the nicest people I've ever known, period. I remember her talking about her father and her friends and when she took me somewhere, everyone seemed to know her. When I had a problem, she'd say 'let me help you'. I can still see her face and hear her voice so clearly. So, I just wanted pass on these memories to add to the other things I've been reading. I'm sorry for her family's loss, a feeling shared by many of us, I see.
- Maureen Furniss, Santa Clarita CA, CA
Dee Dee was the most wonderful person I have ever known.
- Debbie Pepper Estes, Sugar Hill, GA
Dee Dee was so much more than a realtor to me. She and I had such a wonderful time together looking for homes, and filming our House Hunters episode. She made my transition to Savannah effortless, and we maintained a fantastic friendship even after she found me the perfect house. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know her and spend time with her. She will be missed, and I will always remember our time together, her wonderful laugh, and most of all her caring nature!
- Tenille LaTourrette Cromwell, Savannah, GA
MY HUSBAND AND I MET DEE DEE WHEN WE BOUGHT OUR HOME IN SAVANNAH. WE KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT A FINE, COMPASSIONATE, CARING AND LOYAL FRIEND SHE WAS TO US AND ALL WHO KNEW HER. IN DEE DEE'S UNIQUE AND LOVING WAY, SHE MADE LIFE MORE SPECIAL FOR ALL OF US. YOU HAVE OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES.
- KATHERINE SMELLEY, SAVANNAH, GA
I learned just today of Dee Dee's passing and feel the remorse of losing touch. We were friends while I was in school in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Western Kentucky University. Not a week goes by without thinking about Dee Dee and how she stuck by me for a very long time, waiting until she found me just the right house in just the right neighborhood. A short 6 months later, she was as horrified as I when the house burned to the ground. When the ashes settled, she was there again, this time and this was HER idea, finding an incredible lot and helping me tackle the building process. I love my house and love my location....and I owe it to her insight, tenacity and pure kindness. She was not just my realtor, she was a friend and, like so many, I miss her.
- Joy Flynn, Savannah, GA

Dee Dee and I spent many hours of work together of which over time we grew more and more close. Because relationships grow over time you do not always recognize initially the love that develops between friends. Dee Dee was a hard working lady of integrity whom I'm proud and fortunate to have had as a dear friend. I love her and will miss her and our talks, but I will not forget her.I look forward to seeing her again in heaven. To Sondra and Jean you have my most sincere condolences over your loss of your sister. With love in Christ, Sam.
- Sam Smith, , GA
